Welcome to the Holy Church of Dirt
Welcome to The Holy Church of Dirt, a non-denominational non-religious inspirational place to ground ourselves in what matters. The goal of this site is to raise energy in the important work of supporting future generations. Just as our ancestors did for us, we are here to touch the earth to feed children we will never meet. Come down in the dirt to play. Let us dig in.
Listen to the first sermon- Mayday from a compost heap in sunny Costa Rica:
Why the Holy Church of Dirt?
Living within the extractive based economic system, we’ve been led to burn up more than our share of finite resources on a finite planetary system. We’ve fallen into a state of serious degradation. The trees are being cut faster than they can grow. Topsoil is eroding into the oceans faster than it can grow. Life in the oceans is depleting faster than it can grow. We’ve toppled systems that support human life.
For too long, a corrupt, corporate, toxic system promised to feed the planet. Those lies have killed life in the soil, feeding it chemicals degrading soil and health. We’ve had enough.
enough of being enslaved and exploited
enough disease from industrial toxins
enough military industrial killing machines
enough enforced scarcity
It’s time to wake up and get to work. It’s already late. But we can do this.
We are what we eat.
We are what we think.
We are what we do.
We are a rack for bacteria.
We are our bundles of choices breathing in time and space.
We are one.
Let us see and connect with that deep love of the earth from where we came and to where we go.
Nature is love, life, and nurturing health. When we feed the soil, giving it nutrients it needs to feed us and work with nature to grow loving healthy food through that love, we grow healthy and strong. Life radiates and is supported through living soil.
Earth’s abundance depends upon us to put our hands in the dirt to co-create life. Together, we are rehabilitating degraded natural systems. Join us.

Share the Excess
Permaculture offers guidance in our most important work right now. There is more than enough work, nourishment, and shelter for us, when we align with the true wealth beneath our feet.
Nature is complex. The answers are as various as each square inch of the planet.
We Can Do This
We can stop fighting for scraps of scarcity lies and toxic systems. We can find our roots and friends in the dirt to piece together a planet for our great grandchildren’s great grandchildren. We can feed ourselves with abundance learning from and dancing with natural systems.
We can do this. We must do this.
